FAQS

DO I NEED A REFERRAL TO VISIT A PODIATRIST?

No, you do not need a referral to see a Podiatrist. However, in some  circumstances, clients may benefit from a GP referral if they are eligible for the Medicare Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) Scheme or if they are a DVA gold card holder.
Your GP can assess your eligibility and refer you for our services via Medicare.

DOES MEDICARE COVER PODIATRY?

If your doctor has deemed you eligible for an EPC (enhanced primary care plan) referral, we bulk bill at our clinic. A gap fee is payable for home visits. The gap fee will vary depending on the distance we travel and time it takes to visit you in your home.

ARE THERE ANY CONDITIONS FOR USING A REFERRAL?

We are proud to offer bulk billing with a current EPC referral from your GP. It is the responsibility of the patient to bring your referral to your consult.

If you do not have a current referral you will be charged the full consultation fee. It is not the responsibility of the clinic to follow up with your doctors.

If medicare deny your payment for whatever reason you are also responsible for the full consultation fee. If you would like further explanation on how this may occur, your podiatrist will be happy to explain.

The fee for bulk billing is significantly lower than the podiatry association guidelines for scheduled fees. So to continue to offer this service we appreciate your cooperation, understanding and respect on this matter.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST FOR YOU TO VISIT MY HOME?

Our home visit fee is determined by the distance and time it takes to travel to your home.  We have always had extremely competitive home visit fees.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON'T TURN UP TO MY APPOINTMENT?

24 hours notice is required for cancellation or the full fee may be charged.

We have an automated system that will send you a reminder via text or email three days prior to your appointment.

If a patient fails to arrive at their appointment or are not home for our home visit then full fee is charged. We thank you in advance for respecting our time.
